New committee member

We are happy to announce that Anne Wemyss has been co-opted to be on the SHAS committee.

Message from Anne:

“A little about me and my inherited love of gardening, growing things. I grew up surrounded by flowers and a beautiful garden as my mother left her career as a legal secretary to indulge in her passion for flowers. She bought a florist and greengrocery store which became a family affair and a learning curve for me. That learning curve continues as until eighteen months ago I had not grown vegetables, only flowering plants.
I was lucky enough to be asked to share a plot with a neighbour, then subsequently obtained my own plot. I have benefited enormously from the knowledge, advice and interest from fellow plot holders and appreciate the feeling of community. This is particularly important to me, as a retired probation officer, diversity and inclusion of all, regardless of background, knowledge or skills is vital. Having been an active part of the task group the next logical step was to join the committee; I am hoping to be of benefit to the future of SHAS and the allotmenteers.
